"Once during contract time when we got a raise, I took Credit Union sign-up forms over to a co-worker explaining that now was the time to join. Her raise would cover joining, leaving her take home pay the same. Each month her raise was deposited into a savings account. At Christmas her husband lost his job and they were struggling. When I asked about her Credit Union account, she smiled at me and said she had forgotten I’d made her do it. There was enough in the account for her children to have a good Christmas and one less thing she had to worry about!"
